Senior Multi-Family Estimator

JNC has an opportunity for a Senior Estimator/Preconstruction Manager in Fargo, ND to establish
themselves with a growing company offering the potential for future personal growth and advancement
opportunities. JNC is a rapidly growing general contractor looking for a self-driven talented Senior
Estimator who aspires for advancement to perform the following:

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Estimator/Preconstruction Manager you will collaborate with the President/Director of Operations to lead preconstruction efforts and develop cost models, preliminary budgets, GMP estimates, and Lump Sum bids in effort to develop and secure projects. You are expected to get along well with others and lead the estimating team. You must be able to exercise sound judgment and communicate well with your team, co-workers, management, and clientele.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead preconstruction efforts and attend regular design meetings.
• Work with estimating team to conducting quantity surveys and take-offs.
• Work with estimating team to estimate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Work with project team to determine site logistics, schedule requirements and planning procedures.
• Identify, document, and track value engineering options and constructability issues.
• Discuss scopes of work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their bid covers the scope of work.
• Maintain historical unit pricing data base by collecting current market rates from respective trade
• partners and recent project bid results.
• Demonstrate the ability to assemble historical cost data for affective cost modeling for potential clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in estimating, construction management, architecture or equivalent
  combination of training and work experience.
• Minimum ten years construction industry experience with a general contractor or related field.
• Be well versed across all scopes, systems, and assemblies including site work, concrete, structural, wood
  framing, enclosure, finishes, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, and electrical.
• Experience estimating multifamily projects is a plus.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
